This one came out of the blue one afternoon when Joe and I were walking around town on vacation. We saw this well-put-together woman in her 70s dressed in leopard pants and a sparkly black top.
“She looks good,” Joe commented as she passed by. “Except look at those shoes.”
Joe pointed to the beige, worn-out orthopedic shoes old people often wear. You know the kind.
“I’m going to make bedazzled orthopedic shoes. People like her need me!”
“Why even bother, Joe?” I asked.
“Because old people like to look good, too, damn it!”

When I’m 85, you might just find me investing in some bedazzled orthopedic shoes. Or investing in a bedazzler for this purpose.
I’m thinking there’s nothing shitty about this idea Joe! Careful though, you don’t want to lose your crap, it’s really working for you!
Poor Joe!!! Too late!
They are made by a company called “Hogan” they are damn ugly and you can get them in silver, gold, beige, black…and the H on the side is all glittery-sparkly. Go figure they are some kind of status symbol for the young and old – mindless, materialistic masses here in Italy… they cost about 150-200Euros, I hear they’re comfy tho. There are other lesser known brands as well.
I almost can’t wait to be old.
Me too Sharon. You can wear all the goofy stuff that you were too afraid to wear when you were young–Elton John glasses, Liberace jewellery, hot pink lipstick, and BEDAZZLED orthopedic shoes.
Aww, what a sweetheart
I think that Bedazzled Ortho shoes are a great idea. People would wear them! I know my mom (of belssed memory) would have,
Yeah this was just a genuine shitty idea. I imagine its bad enough having to wear orthopedic shoes but then to make them sparkle…
Nice one! Joe should think about making some with spikes, too. I imagine I will want to kick a lot of things when I reach my 70s, and spiked toes would make it that much sweeter.
Hey, I actually thin it’s a good idea! Make some orthopedic shoes that are stylish! Why DO old people have to look dorky? Sorry man, I think Joe won this one…
